- Hearing and eye protection is required for all shooting activities.
- Only shotguns are permitted for use on the sporting clays stations.
- Shot size is restricted to #7.5 shot or smaller (i.e. #7.5, #8, #9).

- Shooting must be undertaken from the stands provided on the sporting clays trail/course and all shooting must be downrange of the shooting stations.
- Shotguns must not be loaded until they are pointed out between the side posts of the shooting stands. Guns must also be unloaded while pointed downrange between the side posts of the shooting stands.
- Shooters must pick up all empty shell hulls after completion of shooting and place them in garbage bins found around the club grounds.
- Members may use their own clay targets on the manuel clay throwers provided at the club provided there are no club sanctioned shoots being held (check the club calendar/notices before heading to the club). See clay thrower safety information below.
- If multiple groups are shooting on the sporting clays trail at the same time, ensure coordination with the other parties to call a "cease fire" before anyone advances ahead of shooting stands (i.e. firing line).
Clay Thrower/Trap Safety
Automatic Traps/Throwers (Remote/Battery Operated):
The thrower arms on these traps, upon launch, have enough force to potentially cause severe injury if it were to come in contact with any body parts. As such, whenever arming or disarming the traps you, and anybody in the immediate area, MUST stand behind them to ensure no contact with the thrower arm or clay target. In addition, the traps MUST be disarmed/de-cocked prior to adding clays, relocating, and/or storage. When cocked, the traps can still potentially release, even with the switches off and the batteries removed.
If you are involved in setup, takedown or use of the machines and you are not 100% sure of the procedures to arm/disarm any of them, please ask someone knowledgeable to show you.
Manuel Traps:
Much like the automatic traps, the thrower arms, upon launch, have enough force to potentially cause severe injury if it were to come in contact with any body parts. As such, when using these traps you, and anybody in the immediate area, MUST stand behind them to ensure no contact with the thrower arm or clay target. When not in use, including storage, the traps must be de-cocked.
